Netflix is launching a daily trivia series called Trivia Quest

Netflix has some seriously trivial news to share ... about trivia!!

That's because starting April 1, the popular streaming service is embracing video games with a new daily "Trivia Quest" interactive game that might look a little familiar to mobile-based app trivia buffs.

What is Netflix Trivia Quest?

Trivia Quest is a narrative interactive experience, where each "win" will help move the story along. But this isn't Netflix's first latest foray into interactive television and games. The service previously experimented with this type of format when it released titles such as Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, You vs. Wild: Out Cold, and the trivia-centered Cat Burglar.

Basically, it's Willy (and his caged pals who need their freedom) vs. Evil Rocky, and you're the only one who can save the day by answering trivia questions for points. There'll be a new episode available each day during April with 24 questions, half "standard" difficulty, and the other half "hard," according to a news release. Each correct answer helps the story progress, and helps Willy save his friends from Rocky.

But rest assured: Netflix is definitely putting its own spin on this iteration of the franchise, if the end of the trailer is any indication: Rocky gets some help from an animated Demogorgon, straight out of "Stranger Things"!

Netflix licensed the Trivia Crack game Etermax.

Players will be able to replay the quizzes to rack up points and correctly answer questions they may have previously missed. Weil additionally writes that each individual quiz “features a definitive ending but we don’t want to tell you too much about that just yet. You’ll have to play to see.”

How to play Netflix Trivia Quest

Essentially, Trivia Quest is a game starring Willy and his caged pals versus the Evil Rocky. Only you can save them by answering questions for points. There will be a new episode available each day with 24 questions - 12 standard difficulty and 12 hard. By correctly answering the questions, the story progresses, and you can help Willy save his friends from Rocky.

Players will be able to replay the quizzes to score points and correctly answer questions they may have previously missed.

When will Netflix Trivia Quest be available?

A new episode of Trivia Quest will hit Netflix every day throughout April 2022, with 30 episodes in total. (Netflix promised "no, this isn’t an April Fool’s Joke".)

Trivia Quest will be playable on the following devices:

Android phones and tablets

iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches

Supported smart TVs, set-top boxes, and consoles
